Other times a reflexive object is used with a verb simply to emphasize that the action is done for the benefit of the subject, or to give the statement a more informal character.
For example:
Han skal kjøpe seg en ny dress. (He’s going to buy himself a new suit.)
Skal vi ta oss en tur? (Shall we take a walk?)
The reflexive pronoun could have been omitted without changing the meaning significantly.
