Vokabular. Before reading, familiarize yourself with the essential vocabulary by using the Quizlet flashcards. Turn your volume on so you can also hear the pronunciation of the words. Also use the quiz function of Quizlet to quiz yourself on the most essential vocabulary before you move on. When you use Quizlet for the first time you will need to click on the “options” button, selecting “show Norwegian first” and then the “advanced audio options” to select “Norwegian audio on” and “English audio off.” You also have the option of starring the words and expressions you have trouble with and studying those separately (click on “options to study starred words only). Finally there are additional study modes and games you can use.

Kapittel 9:
I kapittel 9 har Elling forandret seg. Han er blitt nerd-poeten Elling. Han har kjøpt seg nye klær, og går og legger dikt innimellom varene på Prix og Rema 1000.
Elling leker Kirsten giftekniv. Sier at Reidun skal komme på Larsen. Han og Kjell Bjarne skal dit senere på dagen. Når de har kommet dit, går Elling på do, og når han kommer ut igjen har Reidun kommet. Hun sitter samme Kjell Bjarne. Kjell Bjarne sier ingenting. De ser på menyen. Kjell Bjarne og Reidun vil ha fårikål. Elling tar noe annet for at de to skal ha noe sammen. De snakker om faren til barnet i Reiduns mage. Spanjolen. Reidun sier at hun ikke tror han er i Norge lenger. Kjell Bjarne sier at hvis han hadde vært det skulle han jammen fått bråk med han.
Elling sier at de må gå hjem til Alfons. Når de kommer hjem til Alfons er han bedre. Reidun er med. Hun vasker opp, og lager kaffe.
Kjell Bjarne begynner å mekke bil.
