Future actions can’t always be planned, so we describe what we think or assume will happen. In Norwegian, these unplanned future events are expressed with “vil” + the infinitive.
Example: Det vil regne i morgen. (It will rain tomorrow.)
Han vil like seg i Norge. (He will like it in Norway.)
Boligprisene vil stige til høsten. (The housing prices will rise this fall.)
In speech, unplanned events are often expressed with “kommer til å” + the infinitive.
Example: Det kommer til å snø i morgen. (It is going to snow tomorrow.)
Hun kommer til å trives der. (She is going to get along well there.)
Boka kommer til å bli populær. (The book is going to be popular.)
