8.27 Imperative
The imperative form of the verb is used to make requests, give orders or instructions (like in recipes), and give warnings. The imperative form is the same as the stem of the verb, or the infinitive without its ending. If the verb ends in a stressed vowel, then it is not removed to make the infinitive.
Examples: spise → spis! stoppe → stopp! gå → gå!
Negative imperative:
Ikke sitt her! (Don’t sit here!)
Ikke snakk så fort! (Don’t speak so fast!)
Ikke røyk! (Don’t smoke!)
